My partner of almost 8 years and I always had the sense that something was missing from the home we working so hard to create with one another. A few years ago we realized hat that something was, a child to share our home and love with.
Our one and only child Derek who will be 19 this year is making his own way through this crazy thing we call life now. Derek is my biological son of a previous marriage in whom Alex loves as his own. But he is not ours together. Which is why we have longed for our own child to raise together as one.
Life can be cruel to a person in so many ways. We had started searching years ago in hopes of finding that special person to carry, protect and nurture our baby. Twice we came close, but were only let down leaving our delicate hearts shattered.
As most people do because we are only human, we slowly gave of hope and lived our life without the possibility of having a baby... UNTIL Now. The more I get used to blogging and travel through what is the beginning of a beautiful story of love, I will talk about more of our history and how this all came about.
But for now, I will say that the confirmation was given to us by that special person that she wants to carry a child for us. So, as the title says, is this really happening? Are Alex and I going to have a baby and given the chance to share the love that we have been longing to for so long. It still seems like a dream that I have quite woken up from.
As reality hits and we prepare for this blessed event. You will the story from conception, to the thoughts of everyone involved. But for now I can say thank you to the beautiful lady who is doing this for us. And to Alex, I love you more than life itself and want nothing more than to complete our family.
